According to GMA News, around 60,000 high school students take the UPCAT every year, and more than 67,000 students took the exam in 2009. However, only about 10,000 students pass the test on average yearly.
UPCAT is a five-hour examination in English and Filipino that consists subtests on language proficiency, reading comprehension, mathematics, and science; and can only be taken once. Applicants are being ranked based on their high school weighted average and their admission grades which are the combined weighted scores in the UPCAT subtests. Top-ranking applicants will qualify based on the quota and cut-off grade set by each UP campus.
The results can be viewed online at the University Website.
