Applications on the prescribed form (Annexure-A) are invited from the candidates of J and K State for admission to Ph.D.(Ag./Vety) programmes in the following disciplines during the IInd semester of academic session 2010-11.
Ph.D. (Agriculture) – Agronomy, Entomology, Vegetable Science, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Fruit Science, Food Science & Technology, Agri. Extension Education, Soil Science & Agril. Chemistry, Agricultural Economics.
Ph.D. (Veterinary Sciences & A.H.) – Veterinary Clinical Medicines including Ethics and Jurisprudence, Vety. Pharmacology & Toxicology, Vety. Animal Nutrition, Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obst., Vety. Surgery & Radiology, Vety. Microbiology and Immunology, Vety. Parasitology, Vety. Public Health and Hygiene, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Vety. Pathology.
Eligibility – Master’s degree in respective/related subjects. 6.50/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks at Master’s Degree for General category. 6.00/10.00 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks at Master’s Degree for SC/ST/PH category candidates.
Admission – Selection for admission shall be made on the basis of academic merit and performance in the interview, which will be held at Administrative Block of SKUAST-J, Chatha from 10:00 a.m. onwards on 17-01-2011. 20% seats are reserved for admission to Ph.D. programme in each the faculty viz. F.V.Sc. & AH & FOA for in-service candidates. Relaxation of 0.5% marks per year of service upto maximum of 5% marks to in-service candidates seeking admission in Ph.D. programme.
Application forms – The application on the prescribed forms alongwith attested copies of testimonials/marks certificates from matriculation onwards, accompanied by a Bank Draft for Rs. 1000/-(Rupees One Thousand Only) (non-refundable) drawn in favour of Comptroller, SKUAST-J payable at J&K Bank, Jammu must reach the office of Registrar SKUAST of Jammu Main Campus Chatha on or before 10-01-2011 upto 5.P.M. Candidates in employment should apply through proper channel & shall have to produce No Objection Certificate from their employers at the time of admission.
